About Countdown: Iran

Countdown: Iran is a news and features website consisting of daily blog entries, press surveys, and broadcast interviews with leading experts and analysts on the subject of Iran’s suspected nuclear weapons programs.

The site, which was launched in January 2010, is an independent news venture. It is not affiliated with any news or political entity.

Countdown: Iran was launched by Mordechai I. Twersky, a veteran print and broadcast journalist based in Jerusalem, Israel. He is the site’s editor, and he moderates its broadcast interviews.

About Mordechai I. Twersky

Mordechai I. Twersky is an independent print and broadcast journalist based in Israel. A native of New York City, he has written for the New York Times, the Jerusalem Post, and the New York Jewish Week. He has produced and hosted radio and internet-based public affairs radio programs in New York and Jerusalem. Mordechai has also filed video reports for CNN’s ireport.com.

Mordechai has a master’s degree in political communications from Tel Aviv University; a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism; and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Yeshiva University.
