JAN. 21 – From WashingtonTV’s report on the address to the Hudson Institute in Washington by Elliott Abrams, a senior fellow for Middle Eastern studies at the Council for Foreign Relations:
JAN. 21 – “I have been very unhappy at the comments by the American military leaders, Secretary [Robert] Gates and Admiral [Mike] Mullen – and by the way, this is not a criticism of the Obama administration, it’s a criticism of the American military, because it happened in 2008 as well. I am very critical of their saying what a catastrophe it would be if military force was used against Iran. I don’t understand that as a negotiating tactic. Even if they believe it, I don’t understand why they would say it, and thereby reduce the pressure for a negotiated settlement that the people running Iran would logically feel,” he said.
